Day 23: PSD

Song of the Day: None, no kids, no song!

Morning Session: We reviewed John Collins writing process as a staff. This is something we had done a decade or so ago, and we have decided to re-implement across the curriculum. Our speaker was Mark Dressel, same gentleman as before. He does a great job teaching and entertaining. Mark has student engagement down pretty well.

When asked by colleagues what I thought about John Collins writing process I always respond with, “Of all of the things I have learned at PSD days, this  strategy is one that I have enjoyed and found the most useful”. For what it’s worth, I like this and am glad we are getting back to it.

Afternoon Session: We worked through some wonders and assumptions that we have about our state testing data. Then we broke up by the departments to begin data mining. This will be year long process. Although fascinating, data mining can be tiresome.

Happy weekend, all!
